Signing in with Steam and setting your Trade URL
How Skincash authenticates you through Steam and where to find your Trade URL.
Sign in with Steam
Skincash uses Steam OpenID for login. You never share your Steam password with us — when you click "Login via Steam" you are redirected to Steam's own login page, approve the connection there, and are sent back with a signed identity token. We only ever see your SteamID64.
No password, no cookies
Skincash cannot send trade offers, change your profile or view private data. OpenID is an identity-only protocol — it proves who you are without granting any access to your account.
Setting your Trade URL
Your Trade URL is a public link that lets our bots send you a trade offer. Without it we cannot deliver items you buy or pick up items you sell.
- 1Open Steam → your profile → Inventory → Trade Offers → Who can send me Trade Offers?
- 2Scroll to the bottom and copy the "Trade URL" that looks like https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=XXXXX&token=YYYY
- 3On Skincash, open the profile dropdown → Profile → paste into the Trade URL field → Save.
Keep it fresh
If you reset your Trade URL on Steam (Create New URL), your old one stops working. Remember to update it on Skincash too, otherwise trade offers will fail silently.
